Why Teak? At InsideOut Teak, our goal is to help our customers create an inside-like living space in the beautiful outdoors. There is no better way to do this then with teakwood, it is the ideal material for outdoor furniture. Teak is an extremely hard, densely grained wood with a very high oil content. This combination makes it resistant to moisture, rot, insects, warping, splintering, shrinking, fungus, termites and marine borers. InsideOut Teak is beautifully crafted of Grade A, plantation grown teak timbers. Our teak is kiln dried prior to production, and pieces are crafted with mortise and tenon joinery with locking wood dowels. Teak requires no maintenance. InsideOut Teak will weather naturally to a silvery grey patina in less then a year of exposure to the elements. The grain will not split due to the high oil content of out teakwood, and InsideOut Teak will maintain its buttery texture for generations to come. If preferred, preserving the new color of InsideOut Teak is possible with Teak protector found in most home supply stores.
